LEADER OUTREACH
Give Your Best Gift Campaign April to August 2018

2018 is the year to focus on encouraging church members to give their best gift by creating a plan for their families. The Give Your Best Gift campaign has started with the April issue of the NAD ADVENTIST JOUNEY and will continue through August 2018. You may focus on the importance of creating a plan throughout the year.

Each Planned Giving & Trust Services person has a group of leaders that they interact with on a regular basis. There may also be other leaders that are within your sphere of influence. These leaders could be with your TMC or TAC group, your association/corporate board and executive committee. Have you ever talked to these groups about having an estate plan that honors God by supporting the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? Let them know about your services and your organizations bequest language for including support for your organization in their plan.

For those who are in the conferences you could request to meet with some of your larger church boards and take 30 minutes to let them know about your services. You could also schedule a Sunday where you set up appointments at the church for those members who wish to create an estate plan. (with the pastor’s permission the church secretary could make the appointments for you) You need to start promoting this three to four months in advance.

You may want to review your own family’s plan and make any necessary updates if it has been awhile since you created your plan. You could then use your experience to encourage others to create and new plan or review their existing plan.

When my family moved to the State of Maryland from Washington State we updated our plan within six months of arriving thus bring our into line with Maryland law and also the fact that our daughter was an adult now and could handle many of the responsibilities appointed in our documents. This was a good experience since it had been 12 years since we last needed to update our estate plan.

Building relationships with your leaders will encourage them to encourage the members that they lead to take advantage of your service.
