Description
The online course teaches the fundamentals of charitable gifts, estate planning, fiduciary responsibilities, and developing donor relationships among your constituency. The content is presented by experts currently working in the field and provides a basic understanding of how to assist donors with their planned giving. This is a required course and a key element for individuals desiring to become certified to perform Planned Giving & Trust Services duties in the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Most of the course is presented asynchronously online and may be completed while working from any location. The only in-person portion of the class is the three-day review and exam at the end of the course.
Cost
The registration fee for the course is $600 and may be paid by check made payable to the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Approach
The online course consists of 39 lessons, each with required reading material, a video presentation, and a quiz. Many lessons, but not all, have a learning activity that applies what you have learned in the lesson and must be completed. To aid in your study, a copy of the presenter’s PowerPoint presentation is made available for download within each lesson.

Review & Exam
The 2025 three-day review and exam will take place at the offices of AdventHealth // Orlando, FL.
All attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses.
The review will start on Tuesday, November 18, at 8 a.m. local time. The exam will start on Thursday, November 20, at 8 a.m. Attendees are dismissed after completing their own exams. It typically takes between 1 to 4 hours to complete the exam.
